Manpower and Training (BMET) of MoLE runs 47 Technical Training Centres (TTCs) and 6 Institutes of Marine Technology (IMTs) in the larger cities. Presently BMET provide training to about 50,000 youths per year. The Northern Areas Reduction of Poverty Initiative (NARI) is another project which provided training and employment young women (aged between 18-24).
ICT Division of Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) provides ICT training targeting employment generation. It has launched a project called ‘Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance’.
Necessary steps have been taken to set up centres for skill development and residence facilities for young women entrepreneurs and workers. Intensive training, employ- ment opportunities and  nancial support are being provided to young women entre- preneur. The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA), runs vocation training programs from its 6 training centres.
Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock (MoFL), Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tour- ism (MoCAT), Ministry of Textiles and Jute (MoTJ) and some other ministries and departments run skill development programs including credit schemes in collaboration with national and local NGOs.
4.2 Employment and
National Service
National Service Program (NSP) features as a top priority program of the current government. This program, implemented by DYD, created opportunity for youth to get employed and serve the nation. Since the inception of NSP, 114,034 youth received training of whom 111,699 persons got employed for 2-years. Recent- ly, this program got approval for extension to all the Upazilas (sub-district) of Bangla- desh. Selected youths get 3 month-long training with daily allowance. During two-year employment, they get taka 4,000 ($ 50) at the end of each month and taka 2000 goes to their bank account.
