Graphic Novel-4 Unveiling

The much awaited part 4 of the graphic novel series on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was unveiled today, on 17th February, at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2018. he Centre for Research and Information (CRI) is organized the launching ceremony of graphic novel 'Mujib-4' around 12pm, on the Bangla Academy premises. CRI trustees Radwan Mujib Siddiq and State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid were the present at the ceremony which was graced by over 50 children. They all received gift sets and of free copies of the fourth part of the 'Mujib' graphic novel series which Mr. Radwan and Mr Hamid handed over to the children.

Joy Bangla Youth Awards Inauguration

The much awaited Joy Bangla Youth Award just kicked off with the inauguration ceremony at 3:30 pm on 20th October 2017 at the auditorium of the Sheikh Hasina National Youth Centre Auditorium in Savar, Dhaka. The names of the 30 awardees from the 50 finalists were announced while all of them received the Joy Bangla Youth Award certificates from the chief guest Nasrul Hamid MP, CRI Trustee and State Minister for Power Energy and Mineral Resources and Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP, State Minister for Information, Communication and Technology (ICT).

Joy Bangla Youth Awards Finale

Sajeeb Wazed also handed over a set of special gifts from Microsoft Bangladesh for Young Bangla members. Three real problem solving based projects, submitted by Young Bangla member organizations, each won Tk 5 lac startup funds from Microsoft Bangladesh. Kumar Biswajit Barman, winner of Joy Bangla Youth Award 2017, won another cheque for Tk 5 lac as the best Microsoft-Young Bangla lab. The award giving function was followed by lively performance my popular fusion rock band Lalon followed by dinner.

National Youth Day Conference on Youth Development in Bangladesh

A conference on Youth Development in Bangladesh marking the National Youth Day was held at Hotel Westin in Dhaka on November 1, 2017. The Ministry Youth and Sports organized the conference in association with the Commonwealth Secretariat and Centre for Research and Information (CRI). CRI's vibrant presence was felt during all the sessions of the conference. CRI played a key role in developing contents, mobilizing participants and resource persons for the conference. CRI also published a special booklet named Bangladesh: Youth Development which was launched during the conference.

CRI at Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference

Centre for Research and Information (CRI), made its presence at the 63rd Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) hosted by Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Bangladesh Branch and the Parliament of Bangladesh, at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka from November 1st to 8th 2017. CRI displayed some selected publications on progress and sectoral development achieved by Bangladesh and the success stories of youth-led initiatives at the assembly venue at BICC. The international delegates and other visitors collected the publications, interacted with the CRI staff members and showed keen interest regarding CRI initiatives.

E-village China Visit

The E-village project representatives from the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University(BSMRAU) has attended an official 5-day visit to China from January 18 - January 22, 2018, following an invitation from CETC China Key System (CKS). The objective of the tour was to discuss the progress of 2nd phase of the e-village project being implemented by BSMRAU, for which CRI acting as the strategic partner. The visit also included demonstrations of some of the products in agricultural technology developed in China.

Bangladesh Youth Development

Some specific objectives of the youth development programmes include increase the participation of youth, particularly females in youth development, equip the youth with education, skill and suitable training in technical, vocational and professional fields, increase sell-employment opportunities among the youth. This publication explores the policy measures, plans, programmes and successes of the government targeting general and specific needs and development challenges of the large youth force of the nation. It focuses on some of the core areas like Education and Skill, Science and Technology, Sports and Culture and looks at the initiatives taken by the government in last few years.
